In recent years, billionaires have been trading multi million-dollar real estate with tremendous zeal. Many of these wealthy individuals are paying outrageous sums for exquisite trophy homes, while quietly floating other properties through brokers in unofficial, off-market offerings. In Late 2010, while the downturn paused activity in the super luxury end of the market, high net worth buyers began buying high-end trophy properties selling at significantly lower prices than the worth of the investments in the housing and parking located in these exclusive buildings. According to Savills, these billionaires are attracted to the classic cities that offer international trade. This personal home is 27 stories high and boasts 400,000 square feet of space. This residence includes ceilings, in some areas, that open up four stories high.

Lily Safra's home by the name of Villa Leopolda, comes in second place among these trophy homes. This property is located in Villefranchesur-mer, France. This home boasts 11 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, bowling alley, swimming pool and private beach area.
The third most expensive trophy home in the world is the most expensive trophy home in the United States. This is the property named Fair Field in Sagaponack, NY. This magnificent house boasts 29 bedrooms and 39 bathrooms. Three pools accentuate the home and has a private power plant on the premise.
Lakshmi Mattal, the steel magnate, owns his home in Kensington Garden's which is a 55,000 square feet. This home is unique because it has a Turkish bath, ballroom and a bejeweled swimming pool.
Currently, Copper Beech Farm, an East Hampton estate, was purchased for $120 million. It's location is set on 50 acres of Greenwich waterfront property. This luxurious estate has a grand 13,519 square feet in the main house alone. It comfortably houses 12 bedrooms, a solarium and wine cellar. The current owner of this estate is undisclosed.
One Hyde Park, London is owned by Rinat Akhmeton. This duplex penthouse is a grand 16,00 square feet. Owners of these penthouses enjoy perks such as a stainless steel ozone pool, a gold simulator and panic room. One Hyde Park is also adjacent to Hyde Park and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Her recent investment in this 5u room home was purchased for roughly 70 million. Ecclestone plans on spending approximately $98.7 million renovating the home.  Ellison Estate, Woodside, CA is currently worth $19 million. This property is currently owned by Larry Ellison. One Turkey Lane Road is a seven acre estate. The main house is a colonial all brick home complete with barn, waterfall and ponds. There is a second parcel that is attached and has a one bedroom and bath guesthouse.
Bloom Estate located in Palm Beach Florida was purchased by Citadel's founder Ken Griffen. These properties are adjacent to one another. Currently, there are three homes on the properties, while a fourth home was previously removed. One home is a Mediterranean style ocean front home consisting of 10,000 square feet.

Wall Street money manager, Ron Baron, purchased Further Lane de Menil in the East Hampton, New York for a reported 23 million dollars. The purchase included approximately 50 acres of ocean front, undeveloped property. A 13,00 square foot home, with four bedrooms is also part of the purchase.
Silicon Valley Mansion, Los Altos Hills, Calif.
Facebook investor, Yuri Milner purchased a Silcon Valley Mansion located in Los Altos Hills, California. The home is a French chateaux inspired limestone abode that touts indoor and out door pools, a ballroom and a 2nd floor living area that gazes out on San Francisco Bay.
Real estate mogul, Stanley Kroenke bought Broken O Ranch in Augusta Montana. State laws provide privacy for Kroenke because final sales are private. The estate boasts a 10,000 square foot main house with indoor pools, horse stables, nearly 4,500 head of cattle extensive water rights and substantial agricultural capacity for small grains and grass crops.

Hedge fund titan, Daniel Loeb, owns the coveted 674 square foot penthouse on the very top of the exclusive Central Park flanking high rise. The penthouse was purchased for $45 million, in 2008. It is rumored to be for sale with an asking price of $100 million.

The sprawling oceanfront compound is 60,000 square feet. The fixtures are golden and adorn with diamonds. The garage has the ability to house 50 cars.
Promised Land, Montecito, Calif.
Promised Land is a 40 acre estate located in Montecito, California, and owned by media queen, Oprah Winfrey. Promised Land is valued at $88 million according to the 2012 tax assessment. Ms. Winfrey's home is a 23,000 square foot Georgian-style mansion. Extras include a tea house, 600 different types of roses, and an upscale outhouse.

In 2012, Ekaterina Rybolovleva, daughter of billionaire Dmitry Rybolovleva, purchased 15 Central Park West, located in New York, for $88 million dollars. This fabulous piece of property faces Central Park and provides 6, 744 square feet of living space. This sale was one of the most expensive sales per square foot in the United States. The final sale came to roughly $13,500 per square foot.
